We Will Rock You

Anthony John was chosen by Brian May to be the principal guitarist in the Queen and Ben Elton musical We Will Rock You, for which he has now performed hundreds of shows.

The Olivier-Award winning Queen musical We Will Rock You first opened at the London Dominion Theatre in London's West End back in 2002 and was seen by over 6.5 million people during its record-breaking 12-year run there. Written by legendary comedian and author Ben Elton and with a score featuring 24 of Queen's best-loved hits, it has since toured the UK multiple times and travelled the world.

We Will Rock You is now the flagship entertainment event at the Royal Theatre on Royal Caribbean's Anthem Of The Seas. Anthony joined the show in 2022 and is the current featured guitarist.

Anthony John and Brian May Guitars

Brian May Guitars (BMG) is Brian May's own company dedicated to building guitars to the design of his original 'Red Special'. The Red Special is the electric guitar he designed and built with his father, Harold May, when Brian was a teenager in the early 1960s. Brian May's Red Special since went on to be used on every Queen recording and live show, including Live Aid in 1985. As a result of being chosen to play in the Queen show We Will Rock You, Anthony John was invited to be an official Brian May Guitars artist, and can be seen on the BMG website, and also in the show itself, playing a BMG Red Special.
